Rocky Eye Slight Self Portrait

I found a willing four-legged model to allow me to get up in his face per se, eye boogers and all.  Only got a slight shadowy image of myself though.  Shot with a Nikon D700 at 1/125 @ f16 with a 60mm macro lens at ISO 200.

Basting Brush Macro

While on the hunt for things to shoot I spied my basting brush next to the grill.  Interesting boket followed.  I shot this with a Nikon D700 at 1/80 @ f/16 with a 60mm macro lens at ISO 200.

Real Use Macro

This week I shot a 1:1 of my Gerber Paraframe II knife.  I left it as is so you can see the blemishes and dust that it carries every time I pull it out of my pocket.  Shot with a Nikon D700 for a 5 second exposure @ f16 with a 60mm macro lens at ISO 200.  I used a Speedlight to provide illumination.

A Taste of What's to Stack.

Here's a shot of what's to be focus stacked this week.  It should prove to be interesting.  This was shot with a Nikon D700 at 1/10 @ f36, ISO 200; elevated sidelit by a 750 hotlight.

Ahhh.... More Macro.

For pleasure, I shot this marble for macro class the other day.  I rigged a special snoot to become a light pedestal using a tungsten mini-light.  I really like the depth and color.  Shot with a Nikon D700 for 4 secs. @ f40, ISO 200.

Macro Machine Series

This week in Macro Class we were required to photograph a series of shots ranging in ratio from 1:1 to 1:10 of an object of our choice.  I dug up a double servo unit on cast iron frame.  This is the 1:2 shot of the top corner. I like the rusty screw.  Shot with a Nikon D700 using a 105mm macro lens, 1/40 @ f22, ISO 200.  A pair of Halo Lights provided illumination.

I Heart Macro!

We finally started Macro Photography this week.  Our instructor unleashed us to go have some fun finding interesting objects.  I borrowed this from a fellow student and had fun practicing with new equipment.  I shot this with a Nikon D700 at ISO200 at 1/80th of a sec @ f51!  I used a 105mm macro lens to capture the interesting glass colors.  A pair of 750's lit the charm evenly.  I'm very excited to get more practice with these wonderful lenses.
