Macro Machine Series
This week in Macro Class we were required to photograph a series of shots ranging in ratio from 1:1 to 1:10 of an object of our choice. I dug up a double servo unit on cast iron frame. This is the 1:2 shot of the top corner. I like the rusty screw. Shot with a Nikon D700 using a 105mm macro lens, 1/40 @ f22, ISO 200. A pair of Halo Lights provided illumination.
Asheville Keeps It Real For Bill!
While on a recent photo mission in Asheville with my Ute brother, we came upon this unique tribute to Bill Thompson. Here you go Mr. Bill- all the trash cans you can handle in one frame. Raincheck on the beer. Shot with a Nikon D700, 1/250 @ f9, ISO 200, Windchill 21degrees!

I Heart Macro!
We finally started Macro Photography this week. Our instructor unleashed us to go have some fun finding interesting objects. I borrowed this from a fellow student and had fun practicing with new equipment. I shot this with a Nikon D700 at ISO200 at 1/80th of a sec @ f51! I used a 105mm macro lens to capture the interesting glass colors. A pair of 750's lit the charm evenly. I'm very excited to get more practice with these wonderful lenses.
Ode to the Snow Days... and Nights.
My good friend came into town during one of the snow storms so I had to shoot a mini-pano during his cigarette break. I was able to catch the freaky green fluorescent lights behind my neighbor's house across the street. The print measures 40in. x 11in. Shot with a Nikon D700, for 30sec @ f16, ISO 200: 4 total shots.
